HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test) testing is an aggressive process performed during the Design stage.
The HALT test is designed to find all possible failure modes and quickly identify product weaknesses and expand design margins inside a controlled test chamber.
In HALT testing, a variety of stresses including environmental testing are used to find weak links in the design and fabrication processes of a product.
These include Omni axial (6 degree of freedom) random vibration, rapid temperature transitions, voltage and frequency margining and any other stresses that are appropriate.
