Mechanical Shock Testing


Mechanical Shock Testing is a short duration of high amplitude pulses that simulate a sudden acceleration.

It is similar to vibration analysis and is used to simulate shocks and impacts to define the degree to which the product is damaged or fails. Bump or Shock tests are a type of environmental test designed to simulate the impact a product is exposed to during use.

Anecto have specifically calibrated vibration and shock test equipment which is capable of delivering a repetitive burst of pulses for a given period of time. The shock severity and pulse width are programmable as required.

Our processes and tests are governed by our ISO17025 accreditation.

Mechanical Shock or Bump as it is also known will expose poor mechanical layout, miss-alignment of components and weaknesses in brittle materials like plastic and glass. The tests are accredited under ASTM D880, D999, D4728 and D6344, IEC 60068-2-6, IEC 60068-2-27 and IEC 60068-2-29
