Vibration Testing


Anecto has a wide range of vibration testing capabilites. With three different vibration platforms, we have the ability to run vibration profiles requiring extremely accurate and low level vibrations, right up to vibrating large, heavy products and product packaging.

Our latest vibration platform investment has the capability to superimpose vibration with temperature, and also includes a slip table enabling vibration in all 3 axis, while allowing the product to remain upright. Our processes and tests are governed by our ISO17025 accreditation.

Testing performed with our vibration platforms generally conform to international standards and/or industry specific standards which pertain to Automotive, Medical, Aerospace and Military standards and/or general IEC and EN standards.

Sine and Random test methods are often used for vibration testing. The two test methods are not equivalent and will not necessarily produce the same results.

Random vibration is the better simulation of actual transport vibration environments and is the preferred method for qualification or validation. It will stimulate and accelerate mechanical fatigue by exposing weaknesses, deformities, cracks, etc. in the mechanical properties of a product. It also exposes poor connectivity on connectors and overall poor mechanical layout.

The Sinusoidal or Sine Vibration method is often used in conjunction with the random method to determine and observe resonances. It will stimulate and accelerate unwanted resonances, which if not detected and fixed, will lead to early life failure.

At Anecto, we have a world class team of engineers with many years of experience in product test, validation, and test design. Vibration testing can be quite involved, where many technical aspects that have to be taken into account when designing a product test strategy. Often custom fixturing may be required, and the design of this is critical to the effectiveness of the testing. Fixture design and fabrication is just an example of the type of value added services that we can offer at Anecto.
